School of Accounting Holds Seminar on Talent Cultivation and Postgraduate Recommendation Exemption

To help students clarify their academic development paths and enhance their overall competitiveness for further studies, the School of Accounting held a special seminar titled "Deepening the Academic Path, Striving Together for the Future" on June 4, 2026, in Conference Room 245, Quanxue Building. Attendees included Xiaofang DONG, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Accounting; Kejing CHEN, Associate Dean; Xiaodong LIU, Teaching Secretary; Kaiming WANG, Counselor; and over 110 undergraduate students. The meeting was chaired by Kaiming WANG.

Xiaofang DONG first delivered an opening speech. Based on the students' actual development needs, she expressed her earnest hopes and best wishes, encouraging students to be diligent and thoughtful, to stay grounded and steady in their professional studies and academic exploration, and to achieve academic success and long-term progress.

Subsequently, Kejing CHEN gave a special lecture covering three aspects: undergraduate talent cultivation at the school, the undergraduate academic talent incubation program, and the policies and preparation techniques for postgraduate recommendation exemption. The content was professional, targeted, and practical, providing students with a systematic and clear framework for understanding academic and postgraduate pathways.

Regarding undergraduate talent cultivation, Kejing CHEN introduced the distinctive features and advantages of the school's undergraduate programs. He emphasized that students need to be familiar with the school's disciplinary strengths, training system, and special curriculum, which are key to building their core competitiveness. He explained the three major elective curriculum modules of the training program: digital intelligence empowerment, industry-education integration, and science-education integration. He highlighted three special courses designed to shape academic thinking and enhance research capabilities: Introduction to Accounting Academic Thinking, Stata Data Analysis and Application, and Empirical Methods and Thesis Writing. He also encouraged students to build confidence, identify their own strengths, actively seize opportunities such as summer camp applications and postgraduate recommendation exemption, and be bold in trying and proactive.

On undergraduate academic talent incubation, Kejing CHEN shared the overall status of project initiations and completions over the past four years, showcasing the graduate school placements of students who participated in the incubation program, as well as their achievements in attending academic conferences and winning paper awards. This vividly demonstrated the role of the academic talent incubation platform in cultivating students' research abilities and overall qualities, helping students clearly recognize the importance of academic practice for further studies and stimulating their enthusiasm for participating in academic research and improving comprehensive abilities.

On the topic of postgraduate recommendation exemption, Kejing CHEN combined data on the school's recent placement results to objectively analyze the current overall situation and competitive landscape for recommendation exemption. He introduced the application requirements, training advantages, and application procedures for the school's master's programs in cooperation with overseas universities. He also provided detailed explanations on key aspects of the recommendation exemption process, including material preparation, application timelines, interview techniques, and important considerations, addressing various practical questions students might encounter and offering professional guidance for scientifically planning the path to exemption and avoiding common pitfalls.

The seminar was rich in content and well-focused, effectively breaking down students' cognitive blind spots and confusion regarding academic planning, academic development, and postgraduate recommendation exemption. Moving forward, the School of Accounting will regularly carry out a series of activities including academic guidance, further study assistance, and academic empowerment to help students clarify their development directions, enhance their core competitiveness, and continuously promote the high-quality development of talent cultivation at the school.
