Professor Yanli CHEN Appointed as Expert of the First Corporate Finance Consulting Experts Group of the Ministry of Finance

On September 16, 2025, the Ministry of Finance issued the Notice on the List of the First Corporate Finance Consulting Experts. Professor Yanli CHEN of the School of Accounting was named among the appointees. The group comprises 78 experts in total, including 20 university professors, and carries a three‑year term.

According to the Ministry, the main responsibilities of these consulting experts are threefold: to advise the Asset Management Department of the Ministry of Finance on key issues related to the further development and application of corporate financial management systems, including the General Rules for Enterprise Finance; to help disseminate and implement these systems, regularly report back on their application, and offer timely recommendations on relevant matters; and to actively support the formulation of corporate financial management policies, provide specific input, and assist in the ongoing effort to strengthen the corporate financial management system.

The Ministry of Finance established the Corporate Finance Consulting Experts Group to harness the expertise of a think‑tank in corporate finance, thereby strengthening corporate financial management and services at the macro level and helping to build a universally applicable financial system tailored to Chinese enterprises. Professor Yanli CHEN’s appointment makes her the only university professor from Northeast China and Inner Mongolia area to serve on this inaugural expert group. It also reflects the deep expertise of the School of Accounting’s faculty in corporate financial management, and stands as a vivid example of their commitment to leveraging professional strengths, translating research into practice, and contributing to broader economic and social development.

Yanli CHEN, Professor at the School of Accounting, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE), Council Member of the China Industrial Economics Society, and member of the Accounting Education Committee of the Accounting Society of China.

She has led over ten national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, including projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research General Projects, and the Joint Research Initiative Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Finance and Provincial Governments. 

She has published two academic monographs and over 30 papers in journals such as China Industrial Economics and Accounting Research. Several of her papers have received awards including the Excellent Paper Award from the Accounting Society of China, the Liaoning Provincial Natural Science Academic Achievement Award, and the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
