The Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education recently announced the 2025 list of approved General Projects for Humanities and Social Sciences Research. Two projects submitted by Professor Yanli CHEN and Associate Professor Jia GUO from school of Accounting have been successfully approved.
The Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research Project is a key research initiative established by the Ministry of Education for universities nationwide. It enjoys broad academic recognition and social influence in the field of humanities and social sciences and has become a critical indicator for measuring the research capabilities of higher education institutions in these disciplines. The successful approval of the projects by the two faculty members represents a significant achievement resulting from the Faculty's long-standing emphasis on philosophy and social sciences research, its continuous efforts to consolidate research strengths, active construction of high-level research platforms, and comprehensive enhancement of the quality of research project applications. In recent years, the Faculty has gradually established and refined a "five-in-one" three-dimensional research activity system, achieving the normalization and full participation of research activities. Looking ahead, the Faculty will continue to strengthen its research services and management capabilities through extensive mobilization and early planning, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of humanities and social sciences research.

Yanli CHEN, Professor at the School of Accounting, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE), Council Member of the China Industrial Economics Society, and member of the Accounting Education Committee of the Accounting Society of China.
She has led over ten national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, including projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research General Projects, and the Joint Research Initiative Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Finance and Provincial Governments.
She has published two academic monographs and over 30 papers in journals such as China Industrial Economics and Accounting Research. Several of her papers have received awards including the Excellent Paper Award from the Accounting Society of China, the Liaoning Provincial Natural Science Academic Achievement Award, and the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.

Jia GUO, associate professor at the School of Accounting, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, holds a Ph.D. in Management from Fudan University and was a jointly trained doctoral student at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Her research interests focus on law and finance, corporate finance and capital markets, and corporate governance. Her research findings have been published in Nankai Business Review. She serves as the principal investigator of a Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences General Project and has participated in the completion of several General Projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
