On December 13, 2025, the 2025 Annual Symposium, co-hosted by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), a globally leading professional accountancy body, and Beijing National Accounting Institute, grandly opened in Beijing. During the ACCA Excellence in Achievement Award Ceremony, Professor Fang Hongxing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE), was named the recipient of the 2025 ACCA Excellence in Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the cultivation of international accounting professionals. Ms. Melanie Proffitt, Global President of ACCA, presented the award.
Whether working on the front lines of teaching or in administrative roles, Professor Fang Hongxing has consistently dedicated himself to promoting the high-quality development of the discipline and cultivating top-tier innovative talents. He has continuously deepened reforms in the training of professional accounting talents from multiple dimensions, including optimizing curriculum systems, attracting and nurturing teaching staff, and upgrading teaching models. Through these efforts, he has supplied society with a large number of interdisciplinary accounting professionals who possess an international perspective, a sense of national responsibility, and professional commitment. This award is not only a high recognition of Professor Fang Hongxing's personal professional expertise and industry influence but also an important reflection of the strength of the accounting discipline at our university.
Established in 2006, the "ACCA Excellence in Achievement Award" is a prestigious honor in the international accountancy field, aiming to recognize industry experts and business leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the global accountancy profession. Previously, a total of 16 faculty representatives from higher education institutions have received this honor. The ACCA Excellence in Achievement Award not only highlights the recipient's personal international influence but also fully demonstrates their contributions to the industry.
