AACSB Accreditation Expert Professor Michael Tian-Shyug, Lee Visits School of Accounting to Guide Accreditation Work

To further promote its AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation efforts, the School of Accounting recently invited Dr. Michael Tian-Shyug, Lee, Professor Emeritus of Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan) and Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin, to provide targeted guidance. Hang Liu (Dean), Haoran Xu (Associate Dean), AACSB Accreditation Coordinator Feiyang Liu, and Ming Gao attended the meeting.

Hang Liu stated that the School has been systematically accelerating its accreditation progress in recent years. Noting that AACSB accreditation is regarded as the "gold standard" for global business education with top-tier reputation and influence, the School views it as a crucial initiative to enhance educational quality, institutional standing, and international competitiveness. On June 3, the School's AACSB Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER) successfully passed review. He expressed hope for Professor Lee's continued valuable guidance.  

Professor Michael Tian-Shyug, Lee examined the School's current operations and Assurance of Learning (AOL) implementation, conducted an in-depth analysis of DUFE's hardware/software resources, held detailed discussions on the status and future trends of the accounting discipline, and provided thorough explanations of feedback on the iSER. He offered detailed guidance on current challenges and presented valuable recommendations for future accreditation steps. The meeting was intensive and highly practical.  

This visit and guidance by Professor Lee have played a very positive role in promoting the School of Accounting to improve various tasks of AACSB accreditation. Haoran Xu expressed gratitude for Professor Lee's guidance, believing that this exchange deepened the School's understanding of the AACSB accreditation system and clarified the node objectives and key tasks for the next phase of accreditation work.

Moving forward, the School of Accounting will continuously benchmark against AACSB Standards, efficiently advance the  accreditation work, bridge gaps and address deficiencies, accelerate the internationalization and modernization of its accounting programs, and achieve more comprehensive, balanced, and rapid development of the School of Accounting, and welcome the subsequent on-site peer review visit with a brand-new outlook.

Professor Michael Tian-Shyug, Lee, former Vice President of Fu Jen Catholic University and Dean of its School of Management, is the first AACSB distinguished lecturer in Greater China and the inaugural Chinese member of AACSB's Initial Accreditation Committee. He boasts extensive experience in AACSB accreditation.
