On October 28-29, the 2023 Annual Conference of the Auditing Professional Committee of the Accounting Society of China was successfully held in our university. The conference, with the theme of "Audit Innovation under the Perspective of Chinese Modernization", was sponsored by the Auditing Professional Committee of the Accounting Society of China and organized by School of Accounting of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Professor Yingfei Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Associate Professor Haoran Xu, Deputy Secretary General of the Accounting Society of China, Professor Shouhua Zhou, former Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Accounting Society of China, and Professor Yuan Qi of Auditing Professional Committee of the Accounting Society of China, attended the opening ceremony of the annual conference and delivered speeches. Nearly 200 experts and scholars from the field of accounting and auditing, teachers and students from universities and representatives of journal publishers attended the meeting. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Hang Liu, Dean of School of Accounting of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics.

In the afternoon of 28th, the four sessions of the parallel forum focused on the topics of Capital Market and CPA Auditing, Chinese Modernization and Audit Innovation, Risk Analysis and Audit Decision-Making, Auditor/Client Characteristics and Audit Quality, etc. A total of 22 papers were reported and exchanged, and the delegates discussed the papers enthusiastically and provided opinions and suggestions for further improvement of the papers. Professor Zexia Wang of Hangzhou Dianzi University delivered the closing speech, saying that she hoped that we would take the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress of CPC as a guide, focus on the comprehensive, long-term and strategic issues in the field of auditing, strengthen the strategic planning and top-level design for the construction of independent audit knowledge system in China, seek effective ideas and solutions to the new contradictions and problems in the frontiers of auditing research, make efforts to refine audit concepts, proposals and plans that can reflect Chinese position, Chinese wisdom and Chinese values, and enhance the international influence and discourse of the audit theory system with Chinese characteristics. The closing ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Yang Wang of East China University of Political Science and Law.

This conference focuses on audit innovation under the perspective of Chinese modernization, which is of positive significance for building an audit theory and method system adapted to the needs of Chinese modernization, promoting the high-quality development of audit research in the new era, and enhancing the effectiveness of audit supervision services.
