Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) announced the list of approved projects under its 2026 International Organization Talent Training Program. The project titled “International Organization Talent Training in Accounting and Big Data Analytics,” submitted by the School of Accounting at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE), has been successfully approved. This marks the university’s first master’s-level dual-degree program with both tuition and living expenses funded by the CSC, achieving a breakthrough in the university’s international organization talent cultivation efforts.

Leveraging the strengths of DUFE’s nationally recognized key discipline in accounting, the project introduces curriculum systems in accounting data analytics and sustainable development from Singapore Management University. It focuses on five key areas: international public finance, international auditing and anti-corruption, international accounting standard setting, financial management of international development projects, and cross-border regulation of the digital economy. The program adopts a progressive education model of “solidifying professional foundations at home – honing cross-disciplinary skills abroad – gaining practical experience through international organization internships,” aiming to cultivate compound talents for international organizations who possess “core accounting competencies, multilateral governance perspectives, the ability to articulate China’s stance, and data technology empowerment.”

For a long time, the School has prioritized internationalization as a key direction in talent cultivation and has systematically advanced teaching and educational reforms. In terms of program development, the School launched a specialized track in international accounting as early as 1987, making it one of the first six institutions in China to enroll students in the ACCA program. In faculty development, the School has continuously optimized its international teaching team through a dual mechanism of “internal training and external recruitment.” In curriculum design, the School adheres to a combination of “introducing international resources” and “local adaptation,” and offers four elective modules—“knowledge expansion, digital intelligence empowerment, industry-education integration, and science-education integration”—to comprehensively support students’ personalized and multidisciplinary development. At the same time, the School actively builds a multi-level international cooperation network, maintaining close partnerships with international professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and CPA Australia, engaging in deep collaboration in curriculum co-development, international qualification articulation, and student career development. It has also been steadily advancing AACSB international accreditation to align teaching quality assurance with international standards, laying a solid foundation for cultivating internationally competitive accounting professionals. Graduates trained by the School are highly sought after by employers, with alumni widely employed in internationally renowned accounting firms, multinational corporations, and financial institutions, supplying a large number of high-caliber professionals for China’s participation in global economic governance.

The successful approval of this project marks a new milestone in the School’s international talent cultivation efforts and reflects the School’s long-standing commitment to internationalized education in service of national strategies. Looking ahead, the School of Accounting will continue to be guided by national strategic needs, deepen educational reforms, expand international cooperation channels, and strive to cultivate more high-level accounting talents with a global vision, a thorough understanding of international rules, and the ability to engage in international affairs, contributing DUFE’s strength to advancing the internationalization of China’s accounting education.
